To select high color in Windows 95:

  1. Open the Control Panel's Display tool. Select the Settings tab.
  2. In the Color Palette list box, select High Color (16 bit).
  3. Click the Ok button. You need to reboot before the new values will take effect. The Display tool gives you the option to reboot immediately or later.
